We’ve seen an increase of players concerned about incorrect game suspensions and wanted to provide some information on the current situation with RMT related penalties and suspensions.
First, we have seen concern surrounding the possibility of catching an RMT suspension through in-game systems if the individual you are interacting with has previously purchased RMT gold. We want to reassure players that they can safely use in-game systems such as the Auction House or Marketplace as intended. However, we encourage users to take an active role in keeping their accounts safe. If you haven’t, you can set up Two-Factor Authentication through Steam, and make sure to never accept mailed gold from users that you don’t know or trust.
When it comes to RMT related penalties, the length of these penalties are based on the severity of the RMT that took place. While these currently appear permanent in the game’s UI, you can reach out to our Customer Support team to appeal a ban (Appeal a ban - Support | Amazon Games) you think is incorrect, or to learn more about the exact length of an RMT suspension. Every ticket sent to Customer Support is reviewed by a real, human agent. While some responses may come from a template, they are not automated. Additionally, submitting multiple appeals may slow down the speed at which your issue is reviewed, as agents will have to sort through each ticket on your account.
As a reminder, trying to appeal or attain information on a suspension or ban within the forums is not effective, as forum staff does not have the tools required to look into player accounts, bans, or appeals. Moving forward, threads created with the goal of appealing a ban will be locked, and the player will be redirected to Customer Support to discuss or appeal.
